Considering a Nursing Career?
Search through our extensive database to find nursing programs near your location. Here are a few pointers to help you find the perfect fit.
Entry-Level Programs
Most entry-level nursing programs are primarily conducted on campus. Although some schools may offer a blend of on-campus and online classes, this option is becoming less common. If you are balancing a job alongside your studies, consider schools that provide evening or weekend class schedules.
Before enrolling in any LPN or RN program, ensure it is approved by the state board of nursing. While approval status details for all entry-level programs are available on our website, it’s wise to double-check with your state’s nursing board. Additionally, accreditation from CCNE or NLNAC is crucial. Choosing an accredited program not only aids in future educational pursuits but also opens doors to various nursing scholarships.
Accelerated Nursing Programs
For those with a non-nursing degree seeking a career change, accelerated nursing programs offer a path forward. These programs come in two forms: Accelerated BSN (also known as 2nd-degree BSN) and Accelerated MSN (also known as direct entry MSN).
While the number of direct entry MSN programs is currently limited compared to accelerated BSN programs, this landscape is evolving rapidly. Presently, around 90 nursing schools offer this program, with more set to open in the coming months.
Due to their rigorous nature and accelerated pace, these programs typically require full-time commitment on campus for 12 to 18 months.
Graduate Programs
The majority of graduate nursing programs are available online or in a hybrid format, combining online and on-campus components. However, RN to MSN programs are exclusively classroom-based. Most graduate programs hold accreditation from CCNE and exclusively admit applicants who have graduated from other accredited programs.
